Beneath the surface of this gracious, attractive lady lies an evil wicked old witch. Evelyn Poole is a wicked, conniving practitioner of the occult. Her dark powers are great, and she recognizes an equally powerful potential kindred spirit in Vanessa. Evelyn has big plans for Vanessa, and she  will do everything she can to entrap the young woman and hijack her power.


HELEN MCCRORY
Helen McCrory is well-known for her performances in films, on stage, and on television. On the small screen, she starred in THE JURY; in the title role of the miniseries ANNA KARENINA; and in NORTH SQUARE, which brought her the London Critics' Circle Best Actress award after being previously nominated for THE FRAGILE HEART. McCrory is a Satellite Award nominee for the miniseries CHARLES II: THE POWER AND THE PASSION and has won awards for playing Polly in the series PEAKY BLINDERS. STREETLIFE brought her a BAFTA (Wales) Award.

She has collaborated with Sam Mendes at the Donmar Warehouse, playing lead roles in HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, THE LATE MIDDLE CLASSES, OLD TIMES, and in Mendes' stagings of TWELFTH NIGHT and UNCLE VANYA in London and New York. Notable theatre credits include AS YOU LIKE IT, for which McCrory received both an Olivier Award nomination and a nomination for Best Actress from the Theatregoer Choice Awards. Most recently, she played Medea, earning an ES Best Actress award nomination and winning the Critics' Circle Best Actress award.

Moviegoers worldwide saw her in Mendes' SKYFALL, HUGO, HARRY POTTER movies, CASANOVA, ENDURING LOVE, CHARLOTTE GRAY, THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, and THE QUEEN. In 2014, she starred in THE WOMAN IN BLACK 2: ANGEL OF DEATH, and in 2015 she will be seen in A LITTLE CHAOS and in BILL as Queen Elizabeth I.
